Our Friends Rev. and Mrs. Samson Phiri live in Lusaka, Zambia, a small
country in Central Africa.
Here
they oversea well over 100 orphaned children. Rev.
Phiri hires teachers, and provides food and clothing for them from grades 1 thru 4. As
they grow older, he personally instructs the boys in carpentry and the
girls in sewing to give them a marketable skill. Rev. Phiri earns
much of his own support thru his own carpentry work. But this is no
longer enough.
In 1997 Rocky visited Rev. Phiri on a short term missions trip. They have since become close friends (though our only contact is by written letter, email and telephone). Many packages of various supplies have been sent. 10 acres of land has been purchased and a new school building constructed. And the number of orphans is rapidly increasing. Our continuing objective is to raise money in support for these kids. Within the next few years a short term missions team may be assembled to visit the new site.
