Telephone Repair
To avoid unnecessary charges and to save time you can use this
check list before calling Allendale Communications for assistance.
First, check your equipment:
- Make sure all cords are firmly plugged in, and that they
are not frayed or cracked.
- Check all handsets that they are in place.
- Unplug answering machines and cordless phones. If problem
disappears, the trouble is in that equipment.
- If you are not receiving incoming calls, check the ringer
switch to make sure it is on.
- Unplug the problem phone and plug in a phone that you know
is working. If it works, the problem is with the first phone.
Check the jacks and inside wiring:
- Plug a working phone into the network interface, usually
on the outside of your house. If the phone works here but nowhere
else, the trouble is probably in the inside wiring.
If your inside wiring is faulty, you can fix the wiring yourself,
hire a contractor such as an electrician to do the repairs or
Allendale Communications can repair the wiring and/or jacks and
bill the appropriate charges to your account. The charge will
be $65.00 per hour with a 1⁄2 hour minimum charge.
Should you determine the trouble to be in the telephone service
