Checking Your Outlook Express Mail Settings

  1. Get into Outlook Express.
  2. Click on Tools (from the menu).
  3. Click on Accounts (from the drop-down menu).
  4. Click on the Mail stub.
  5. Select your mail account (for allcom.net) and click on Properties.
  6. In the username field your username should be entered (It does not include @allcom.net).
  7. Your e-mail address should be listed as your username@allcom.net.
  8. Choose the Servers stub.
  9. Both your Incoming and Outgoing mail should be listed as mail.allcom.net.
  10. Under the Incoming mail server section your account name should read as just your username (It does not include @allcom.net).
    Note: Your account will be starred out for security purposes. If you are receiving a message that your password is incorrect, make sure your Incoming mail server account name is correct and try retyping your password.
  11. Remember my password should be checked.
  12. Click on Advanced stub.
  13. Make sure Leave a copy of messages on server is Blank.
  14. Click on OK when you are finished to save your changes.
