Making sure your Windows 95/98 Dialer Settings are Correct
- Click on Start.
- Click on Settings.
- Click on Control Panel.
- Double Click on Network.
- In the white window, if there are duplicate TCP/IP's, then click on the duplicate and click on remove. Click on TCP/IP or TCP/IP -> Dial-Up Adaptor. Then click on Properties.
If you have Windows 98, answer Yes to the warning message that appears.
- Click on WINS Configuration stub.
- Make sure Use DHCP for Wins Resolution is selected.
- Click on DNS Configuration stub.
- Make sure the following settings are in place:
Disable DNS
- Click on OK.
- Click on OK.
If you had to change any of your settings, your computer probably will request you to restart it. Allow your computer to restart.
