Checking Windows Me Dialer Settings

1. Click on Start
2. Click on Settings
3. Click on Dial-up Networking
4. Right click on altelco dialer
5. Left click on Properties
6. Click on Dialing tab
   • Check this is the default Internet Connection, then check always dial my default connection
   • Uncheck enable idle disconnect
   
7. Click on Scripting tab - File name box should be blank
8. Click on Security tab
   • Fill in the username box (do not include @altelco.net, all lowercase)
   • Fill in password box
     Click here to test username and password.
   • Domain box should be blank
   • Connect Automatically should be checked, the rest of the boxes are blank
   
9. Click on Networking tab
   • Type of dialup server should start with PPP
   • Check Enable Software Compression and TCP/IP
   • The rest of the boxes should be unchecked
   
10. Click on TCP/IP Settings button - Check the following:
    • Server Assigned IP Address
    • Server Assigned Name Server Addresses
    • Use IP Header Compression
    • Use Default Gateway
    
    Click on OK
11. Click on General tab
12. Make sure Use area code and Dialing Properties is Blank
13. Click on Configure button
14. Maximum speed should be set at 57,600
15. Click on Options tab
16. Bring up terminal window before and after dialing should be blank
17. Click on OK
18. Click on OK
