It takes a long time to connect, what can be done to connect faster?

There is a setting in the dialer that can cause a wait of 45 seconds to get connected after it verifies the username and password. To uncheck this setting:

1. Double click on Start
2. Double click on Dial-up Networking
3. Single click on altelco dialer
4. Click on File
5. Click on Properties
   
6. Click on Server Types
7. UNCHECK Log on to Network
8. Click on OK
