How do I download software? Will it cost me any money?
The only way you can get charged on the Internet is if you give them personnal information or your credit card number. Most software on the Internet is free. To make it easier, when I download things, I created a download directory/folder on my hard drive. To do this, you can use either Windows Explorer or File Manager. Under Windows Explorer, click on File, New, Folder. Under File Manager, click on File, then Create Directory. Before you create a directory/folder, make sure you have selected the C: prompt. This will ensure that the directory/folder you have created is just off the root (C:). Some interesting sites to go to for downloading software are altelco.net Software Factory, www.shareware.com and www.download.com. Once you get to your destination, it will ask you where you want to save. I tell my computer to save it under c:\download. To get to the file you saved, you can use Windows Explorer, File Manager, or DOS.
