Kit arrived safe and sound.  I installed it today and have it working perfectly.  I discovered one of my solenoids was  faulty so replaced both with new ones.  No telling how long I have been operating on one solenoid.  Had one to hang up years ago when we were using only one.  Before we were able to disconnect the battery,  Mono Cote was ripped loose on a floater.  At least it did not fold the wing.  The pilot was never seen again at our field.  He was a " high start " person.
Thanks,

Wow, kits arrived Saturday . . . many thanks for the very quick shipment and your thoughtfulness regarding two sets of instructions (1 for the club and 1 for myself)!!!
Thanks again Cal for your efforts!!
May all your air be up . . .

This is too strange for truth.  Since I had the winch out on the bench, I
decided to replace the line.  Both lights were on.  Shorty after I started
winding the new line, one went out.  I got out the continuity checker, and
sure enough, one was stuck !

I probably caused the problem disassembling and reassembling the
connections and put some stress on a solenoid with a bus bar.  But without
the lights, I never would have known....

I also think I'm going to replace those solid copper bars with some short
cable.  Unless everything is lined up perfectly, it seems all too easy to
put some twist on a solenoid body and that can't be good.

So REALLY thanks,

In less then year I have experienced the failure of 3 winch solenoids.  They are Cole Hersee solenoids.  The first failure was with brand new ones.  On the first day of use both solenoids failed at essentially the same time, they both stayed closed.  A cutoff switch saved the sailplane.  After the failure I installed Cal Posthuma's Solenoid LEDs.  The second failure was last Saturday, it was only the second day the solenoids were used.  One of the solenoids stayed open.  Cal's solenoid setup's buzzer sounded and the LED for that solenoid stayed on.  We jerry rigged a bypass for the bad solenoid and were able to fly.

I am a firm believer of  Cal's solenoid setup.

Fellas,
I Know a bunch of guys who are not running duals and really should be.
You Know who you are !!
The Kits that Cal offers is cheap, convenient, and easy to install.
While performing your preseason winch tune up, I Know that You all do that,
why not install a sol kit as well.
I would have done this years ago, I just did not want to go track down the parts !!
I just installed one of Cal's kits on my BAT Winch, it looks great and it works great !!
